GreenFeet is Launched ...

Environmental issues are currently attracting much attention. “Going green” is heard everywhere, and on television and in the newspaper we are constantly being given ways we can “help” the environment. Hybrid vehicles are featured at major auto shows. Even in the grocery store new cleaning products that are less harmful are showing up on the shelves. The public is finally beginning to recognize that their actions have an impact on the Earth.

Tri-County/City Soil and Water Conservation District is launching “
GREEN FEET” to help middle school teachers make connections between current environmental issues and their curriculum. We know that kids learn best when they can connect what they are learning to something they care about.

     Each “
GREEN FEET” newsletter will feature an article on an environmental issue. The article will be accompanied by a lesson plan that links to that topic for each middle school science course. Print-friendly versions of the articles and lesson plans can be accessed below.

As we trod upon the Earth, our goal should be to make sure the footprints we leave are “
green.”
